Homework

Maths

Children have been provided with Maths workbooks to complete at home this year. Please see your child's homework timetable for information on which sections to complete each week. We will be practising our times tables every day in school, so it would be really helpful if you could help your child to learn them at home as well. (The Year 4 objective is that all children should be able to recall all tables facts up to 12 x 12)

English

Your child should have Bug Club login. Visit https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0 to log on. The user name and password should be in their organiser/diary and the school code is rsms. Please see your child's teacher in you cannot log into the account.

Your child will also have spellings to learn every other week.  These may be keywords which we need to know how to spell by the end of Year 4, or words that follow a spelling rule. Spelling are given out on Monday and the test is the following Monday They should be stuck into your child's spelling book. Please help your child to learn them by testing them using look, say, cover, write check. It is also important that they understand the meaning of the words that they are learning.

Every child also has a Reading comprehension workbook, which should be completed weekly in accordance with the homework timetable.

Reading Diaries are regularly checked and children are expected to read at least 3 times a week. Once by Wednesday and three times by Friday. Please read with your child and write in their diary to say what book and pages and how they read. Reading books and diaries should be brought to school each day.

If you would like any support to help your child at home with any aspects of learning, please see your child's teacher and we will be happy to provide you with relevant materials.
