For both the Meerkats and Red Pandas, our P.E. day is Friday.
Please ensure that your child has a full P.E. kit (black shorts, school P.E. top and black pumps) in school, with all items clearly labelled with your child's full name. These will be sent home at the end of each half term for a freshen up.
***It is really useful if you encourage your child to develop their self-help skills at home, for example dressing and undressing independently.
It is really important that your child has a book bag that they bring to school everyday. We are really fortunate to have lots of adults who love to listen to the children read, in addition to their usual reading with their class teacher. By bringing their bag everyday, this ensures that children have lots of opportunities to read along with having their reading book changed regularly.
We really value our partnership with parents; the activities you do with your child at home has a significant impact on their overall education and development. We ask that you spend a short while each evening reading with your child, a signature in their diary is much appreciated to indicate you have done so in order for their books to be changed.
Sound spotters will also continue as we move into Phase 3 sounds in phonics. These are taken in on a Thursday to be updated and sent home again on Fridays.
The children have been with us for some time now and we have found that names are starting to wash out of jumpers and cardigans. Just a gentle reminder to double check your child's name is still visible in their uniforms. This will avoid them being misplaced.
***As the cold weather is approaching, this is the perfect opportunity to help your child develop their self-help skills. We encourage all children to zip up their coats independently and would appreciate your support at home.
