Ruth Lomas: School Attendance Officer

ATTENDANCE:

The safety of our pupils is my priority, ensuring I know where each child is when they are absent is essential. I will ring and write letters and may visit your home address if concerns are raised.

I work closely with the Local Attendance Service to ensure the pupils at Hodge Clough have minimal attendance issues. Attendance guidelines are provided by the Government and the Local Authority. As a school we provide support and guidance to ensure this  criteria is met. I send regular reports to the Local Attendance Service providing pupil’s attendance information.

If you are new to the school or are moving onto another school I will support you and your children in this transition.

I also provide incentives for good and excellent attendance. This year we have used stickers, vouchers and there will be a trip out for those children who have achieved 100% attendance.

CONCERNS:

If you are unsure about anything in relation to your child’s school life it is important you speak to their class teacher. If you are unable to do this then you’re welcome to speak to me and I will do my best to resolve any concerns you may have.

I work with Mr Cavanagh our Head Teacher and will forward any issues  I am unable to resolve onto him.

Please do not hesitate to contact me; I will do my very  best to help!
